Deanie and Doug Barr Nursing Scholarship

Retired Saddleback College counselor, Doug Barr, is a scholarship donor & advocate and also has scholarship responsibilities at three different colleges for a combined 15 years. In honor of Doug receiving the Saddleback College Foundation ‘2019 Donor of The Year’ award, colleagues created the Doug Barr Student Success Scholarship.

Upon Doug’s retirement, after 31 years at Saddleback College, the scholarship was renamed the Deanie and Doug Barr Nursing Scholarship in recognition of both Deanie and Doug Barr. Although now retired, Doug continues to advocate scholarship donations as an optimum use of his philanthropy, rewarding academic achievement AND assisting continued education with financial support for Saddleback College students.
