Gary Capata, CPA

As a high school student, Gary Capata knew that he wanted to continue his education. He did not know what he wanted to do as a professional and therefore did not know what to focus his studies on. Following high school graduation he attended Santa Monica College where he discovered the field of accounting. Capata’s instructors were incredibly committed to the profession and showed him the possibilities of pursuing this major. Thanks to the passion and commitment of these instructors, he completed his studies and has enjoyed a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant. Through this scholarship, Gary hopes to encourage other students to pursue a career in accounting.
